Well, I have listened to those two demo songs. I can’t say whether they are nice or not. It depends on what your band’s purpose.
If your band is just a media to have fun as a music hobbyist, then your music is technically good. I like the drum and few of the guitars play (especially the melody at the verses and preludes of Aku Untuk Membencimu). The vocal is also good. I don’t know whether it’s purely recorded or overlooply edited, but since I think you are still a new band, it’s impossible for you to use overlooping, eh? So, the vocal is for me so cool!
But since most bands (and I think you do too) have a purpose of getting fame and recorded under big music label, I think you are musically, especially for your genre, not good enough.
As I’ve been living in Indonesian for more than a year, I notice that pop romance, the genre you are using, is too common among the Indonesian bands. Furthermore, I listen too some new Indonesian bands, looking back at Vagetoz, St 12, Kangen Band, Pilot, etc… etc… I think their music is basically similar, the boring Indonesian pop romance. I can hardly find something special from their music. That’s why I, as a listener, at once forget them as soon as their hits getting boring after being played and listened in/from media player and networks.
So, my first suggestion is, create your own music and don’t let your songs just passing by for a moment then blown away as another bands’ songs coming!
Maybe give a bit sense of alternative rock of Panic! At the Disco by adding more upbeat keyboard play would be nice… (try to listen “Build God Then We Talk” and “Time to Dance” from their previous album and “Nine in the Afternoon” from their latest album.)
Secondly, about the lyric (actually I can’t get the lyric at first since my listening comprehension of Indonesian is still bad but my cousin who is originally Indonesian translated it into France for me). Still the same comment as the one I give for the music. It’s too common. It needs to be more controversial. Your lyric is just too manly sweet. And that’s what I found in most Indonesian bands, their lyrics are so poetic. It’s good, but maybe you can also try to write a song seen from another sides.
Just for example, when you break up with your girlfriend, what do you feel? While most Indonesian bands describe the feeling of breaking up by “sadness” and write these lines:
Teardrops on my face as you leave me
Now I’m here alone in head there’s just you
He’s better than I am he’s better for you
I’m letting you go so just let go of me
That’s just so passe, then you can describe it by “anger” and write these lines:
I know you hey you’re hell of jerk to throw me away
And now everything left to lose is not to say
Goodbye, dear, just get your a** off my eyes
You get me sick I could vomit all up on your face
Everything you need is just originality to make your band unique. But your music is from your heart. You shouldn’t follow anybody’s suggestion if you don’t want to.
That all is just my opinion as your song listener. Your friends might be able to give you better advises. But overall, your songs are great. I think Aku Untuk Membencimu is better than Sesal, but I really appreciate your music. I can neither make songs that good nor even play a guitar well.
Anyway… good luck for you all! You are the first band I accidentally found the blog in my dashboard since the first time I made my blog. So, ganbatte! Nice to know you! Do your best and I’m supporting! Buena suerte! Keep going forward!
Er… maybe I write to much comments >.< Sorry for that!
